    Respiratory Therapist – Night Shift

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed, within the scope of professional licensure and with minimal supervision
    • Conduct physician-prescribed treatments utilizing invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices to administer prescribed medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation
    • Perform arterial puncture, oximetry, capnography monitoring, pulmonary function studies, 12-Lead EKG, and basic arrhythmia recognition according to policy
    • Perform tracheostomy care including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes (emergent and non-emergent), as well as insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes via free-hand technique and/or video laryngoscope system
    • Assist with respiratory-related procedures such as bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, and chest tube placement; perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning as needed
    • Set up, self-test, operate, and monitor mechanical ventilation equipment; maintain accurate respiratory therapy records, patient charting, and therapy charging
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Respiratory Therapist license in good standing
    • Current BLS certification required
    • Current ACLS certification required
    • Ability to operate various ventilatory, oxygen, aerosol, and nebulizer equipment
    • Ability to perform arterial puncture, pulmonary function studies, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation per established guidelines
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with moderate complexity laboratory testing protocols including specimen handling, quality controls, and documentation
    • Familiarity with PleurX catheter drainage procedures
    • Experience with video laryngoscope systems for endotracheal intubation
