Contract | 36 hours per week, 3x12-hour night shifts (1800–0630) | Every other weekend and rotating holiday schedule
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine and emergency respiratory therapies to aid in the treatment, diagnosis, and evaluation of patients' cardiopulmonary status, including oxygen saturation checks and oxygen titration per protocol.
Initiate, monitor, evaluate, and wean invasive and non-invasive ventilation; make parameter recommendations based on clinical assessment, laboratory values, and patient response.
Conduct patient assessments before and after administration of medications, procedures, or devices; recommend appropriate therapy initiation, modifications, or discontinuation through therapist-driven protocols.
Demonstrate competence in setup, calibration, and troubleshooting of mechanical ventilators, non-invasive ventilation devices, therapeutic bronchoscopies, and pulmonary function screens; maintain and disinfect equipment and departmental supplies.
Respond to emergent care situations and assist with resuscitation including chest compressions, airway management, airway stabilization, and ventilator support in accordance with AHA guidelines.
Transport adult patients on mechanical ventilators, non-invasive ventilation devices, and critically ill patients to intrahospital procedures and testing; educate patients and families on therapies, medications, and treatment goals.
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program (education verification required)
Active Wisconsin Respiratory Care Practitioner license
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the National Board for Respiratory Care
AHA Provider Level BLS certification
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience providing developmentally appropriate care across pediatric and adult patient populations
Familiarity with therapist-driven protocols and participation in community respiratory health education initiatives
