Job Title

Respiratory Therapist – Night Shift

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed, including operation of invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices.
  • Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning (oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal), oximetry and capnography monitoring, and pulmonary function studies.
  • Perform arterial punctures, 12-Lead EKGs, basic arrhythmia recognition, and routine review of patient chest x-rays.
  • Assist with respiratory-related procedures including bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, chest tube placement, tracheostomy care, and endotracheal tube insertion and removal.
  • Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation per BLS and ACLS guidelines; set up, self-test, operate, and monitor mechanical ventilation equipment.
  • Accurately document all treatments, patient responses, and respiratory therapy charges; communicate effectively with physicians and during shift-to-shift handoff rounds.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Respiratory Therapist license in good standing.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification.
  • Demonstrated competency with invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation.
  • Ability to perform arterial puncture and interpret results to assess ventilation efficiency.
  • Experience with tracheostomy care, including emergent and non-emergent tube insertion and removal.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and float between multiple facility locations.
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience in a moderate complexity laboratory setting with knowledge of specimen handling, quality controls, and documentation protocols.
  • Familiarity with video laryngoscope systems for endotracheal intubation.
  • Prior experience in a float or multi-site respiratory therapy role.
