    Respiratory Therapist – Night Shift

    Contract | 13-Week Assignment | Night Shift | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed, including operation of invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices
    • Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning (oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal), oximetry and capnography monitoring, and pulmonary function studies
    • Perform arterial punctures, 12-Lead EKGs, basic arrhythmia recognition, and routine review of patient chest x-rays
    • Assist with respiratory-related procedures including bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, and chest tube placement; perform tracheostomy care including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes
    • Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation per BLS and ACLS guidelines; perform endotracheal tube insertion and removal via freehand technique and/or video laryngoscope
    • Accurately document all treatments, patient responses, and respiratory therapy charges; communicate patient status during shift-to-shift handoff rounds
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Respiratory Therapist license within the scope of professional practice
    • Current BLS and ACLS certification
    • Experience operating and maintaining mechanical ventilation equipment
    • Ability to perform arterial punctures and interpret results to assess ventilation efficiency
    • Competency in performing pulmonary function studies and cardiopulmonary resuscitation
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience in moderate complexity laboratory testing including specimen handling, quality controls, and documentation
    • Familiarity with PleurX catheter drainage and similar chest drainage devices
    • Experience with video laryngoscope systems for endotracheal intubation
