Key Responsibilities

• Provide intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed, within the scope of professional licensure and with minimal supervision; evaluate patients and recommend treatment plans
• Conduct physician-prescribed treatments using invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices to administer prescribed medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation
• Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning (oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal), oximetry and capnography monitoring, pulmonary function studies, and arterial puncture
• Perform tracheostomy care including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes, as well as insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes via free-hand technique and/or video laryngoscope system
• Assist with respiratory-related procedures such as bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, and chest tube placement; perform 12-Lead EKG and basic arrhythmia recognition
• Set up, self-test, operate, and monitor mechanical ventilation equipment; document all treatments, patient responses, and respiratory therapy charges accurately in the patient chart

Required Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist license valid for practice
• Current BLS certification required
• Current ACLS certification required
• Ability to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation per BLS and ACLS guidelines
• Ability to work night shifts with minimal supervision

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with both invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation across a variety of equipment platforms
• Familiarity with moderate complexity laboratory testing protocols including specimen handling, quality controls, and documentation
• Experience assisting with advanced procedures such as bronchoscopy and percutaneous tracheostomy placements
