Job Title

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Travel Contract – Days

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | Full-Time | Days | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM | 36 Hours per Week Guaranteed | 26-Week Assignment | Every Other Weekend Required | Call Rotation Required (approximately one call shift per month)

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide respiratory therapy services across adult acute care, critical care, IMC, NICU, PICU, pediatric acute care, and emergency department settings as part of a facility-wide coverage team
  • Operate and manage a variety of mechanical ventilators including Drager V500/VN500, Hamilton T1/C1, Respironics V30/V60, Trilogy line, Airvo, and Vapotherm devices
  • Maintain patient ratios consistent with unit assignments: approximately 1:25 in acute care and 1:8 in critical care settings
  • Participate in call rotation, covering approximately two hours for the oncoming shift as required by the department
  • Document all clinical activities and patient care interactions accurately within the EPIC electronic medical records system
  • Adhere to scheduling expectations including every-other-weekend coverage and float assignments across the facility as operationally needed
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
  • Minimum of 3 years of respiratory therapy experience required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required for NICU coverage
  • Experience in a tertiary, teaching hospital environment with Level 1 Trauma designation
  • Demonstrated competency in adult acute care, adult critical care, NICU, PICU, pediatric acute care, and emergency department respiratory therapy
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
  • Experience in NICU, PICU, and cardiothoracic respiratory care strongly preferred
  • Flexible, team-oriented professional with strong communication skills well-suited to a high-acuity, fast-paced environment
