Respiratory Therapist – Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
Key Responsibilities- Provide respiratory therapy services across a 6-bed ICU, Emergency Department, Medical/Surgical, Pediatrics, and low-volume newborn stabilization areas
- Manage invasive and noninvasive ventilator patients, including weaning from mechanical ventilation and troubleshooting high-pressure alarms
- Administer routine and specialty inhaled medications via MDI, aerosol mask, T-piece, trach collar, HFNC, BiPAP, and CPAP
- Perform airway management procedures including nasal and oral airway placement, suctioning, tracheostomy care, and extubation
- Interpret Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs) and perform pulmonary hygiene and sputum specimen collection
- Provide occasional after-hours EKG support for the Cardiology Department and deliver care to patients across all age groups, including newborn stabilization prior to transport
Required Qualifications- Minimum of 1 year of respiratory therapy experience, including Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department settings
- Active New York State Respiratory Therapy license — must be in hand prior to submission
- Current BLS, ACLS, CRT, and NRP certifications required
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records (hard requirement)
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
- Ability to work independently and adapt to a dynamic, changing care environment
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience operating Servo I, LTV, and/or Hamilton T1 ventilators
- Comfort and experience providing care across all patient age groups, including pediatric and neonatal populations
- Experience working in a low-volume or critical access hospital environment
