Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Nights
LocationReston, Virginia
Schedule / Job TypeContract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Three 12-hour shifts per week
Key Responsibilities- Manage ventilator-dependent patients across multiple care areas including Adult ICU, CVICU, PCU, NICU, Trauma, and Medical floors
- Perform emergency airway care, arterial punctures, and A-line management
- Operate and monitor equipment including Servo I, Servo U, 980 vents, V60 and Hamilton C1 BiPAP, Resmed Aircurve 10 home CPAP, and Radiometer ABL90 ABG analyzers
- Administer CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow therapy, and standard aerosolized medications
- Document patient care using Meditech Expanse electronic documentation system
- Perform approximately 20–30 patient procedures per 12-hour shift; float to all areas as needed (excluding charge duty)
Required Qualifications- Active State of Virginia Respiratory Therapy license
- RRT credential required; CRT accepted
- Current ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of full-time hospital experience in critical care (adult)
- NICU experience required
- Proficiency in ventilator management, emergency airway care, CPAP/BiPAP, High Flow therapy, and 12-lead EKG
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience with High Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation (HFOV)
- Experience caring for NICU patients
- Trauma patient care experience
