Key Responsibilities- Work under the supervision of the Respiratory Medical Director and Department Manager in the treatment, management, control, and diagnostic evaluation and care of patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities.
- Triage patients safely, rapidly, and accurately upon entry into the emergency care system, determining priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs and patient flow factors.
- Communicate with ED physicians regarding changes in patient status, symptomatology, and results of diagnostic studies.
- Provide respiratory care services in accordance with physician orders, department policies, and procedures including patient assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and therapeutic interventions.
- Deliver patient, caregiver, and community education as part of comprehensive respiratory care.
Required Qualifications- Current Utah State Respiratory Therapist Licensure.
- Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Therapy.
- Active BCLS and ACLS certification.
- Valid and active NBRC Credential in good standing.
Preferred Experience / Skills- AARC or USRC membership preferred.
- Prior experience in an emergency care or acute care setting.
