Job Title

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – NICU

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform quality patient care within the scope of Respiratory Practice through individualized assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of safe and therapeutic care.
  • Communicate patient status, observed changes, and responses to appropriate members of the healthcare team to expedite patient progress and promote quality outcomes.
  • Adhere to department-established patient care assessment and/or patient-driven protocols, including aseptic technique and universal precautions.
  • Document care within the scope of Respiratory Practice, maintaining accurate patient and department records including point-of-care documentation and charge entry.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and consult other departments as appropriate to address complex or high-risk clinical situations.
  • Manage time and resources effectively, demonstrating ability to organize, prioritize, and adapt to changing workloads within department guidelines.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent acute care experience in Respiratory Care.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Level III NICU setting.
  • Current California Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required.
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Respiratory Care or related field preferred.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential preferred.
