Shift Details:
Medical OT-8HR Class: RCP Shift: Night and morning shift 5/8s: Mon-Thurs 1:30pm-10:00pm (30) and Sun 8:30am-5:00pm (30)vice training which will be scheduled once onboard, Mon-Wed 0700-1500
Respiratory Care Practitioner Duties & Responsibilities:
Identifies breath sounds, recognizes abnormal breath sounds, recognizes abnormal arterial blood gases, identifies amount and character of secretions, determine need for supplemental oxygen/suction
Reports changes in patient's status to charge nurse or physician and staff caring for patient
Documents Respiratory Care consistent with hospital charting standards
Complies with hospital policy for receiving doctor's orders, including verbal and phone
Accurately gives report to oncoming shift
Reports extraordinary patient problems to supervisor, director or administrator as necessary
Complies with hospital policies and procedures for selected precautions, i.E.;seizure, suicide
Uses principles of body mechanics in mobilizing patient or objects
Asks for help when lifting heavy patients
Complies with policies for restraints
Complies with policies for electrical safety
Checks the Emergency Equipment policy
Incorporates infection control principles in practice
Demonstrates skills related to the management of emergency situations
Complies with policy for cardio-pulmonary arrest
Demonstrates competency for ABG drawing and sampling
Demonstrates competency for Quality Control and ABG analyzers
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of experience within the last 36 months (3yrs) as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
Ability to build rapport with patients
Compassionate and caring demeanor
Familiarity with medical terminology
A valid and current CPR card (American Heart Association)
Must have up to date credentials in the state of California
Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., .BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test, or other client-specific requirements.
