    Contract | Rotating Days and Nights | Rotating Weekends | 8-Week Assignment

    Key Responsibilities
    • Conduct physician-prescribed respiratory treatments using invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices to administer prescribed medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation.
    • Perform ventilator management including setup, self-testing, operation, and monitoring of mechanical ventilation equipment, with a focus on ventilator weaning.
    • Perform arterial punctures, oximetry and capnography monitoring, pulmonary function studies, 12-Lead EKGs, and basic arrhythmia recognition.
    • Assist with respiratory-related procedures including bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, chest tube placement, tracheostomy care, and endotracheal tube insertion and removal.
    • Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning (oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal), and chest drainage via PleurX catheter or similar device where applicable.
    • Document all treatments, patient responses, and respiratory therapy charges accurately in patient records and communicate findings to attending and pulmonary physicians.
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Respiratory Therapist license — must be in hand at time of placement.
    • Ventilator weaning experience required.
    • BLS and ACLS certification required.
    • Proficiency with both invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment.
    • Ability to perform arterial punctures and interpret results to assess ventilation efficiency.
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with moderate complexity laboratory testing protocols including specimen handling, quality controls, and documentation.
    • Familiarity with video laryngoscope systems for endotracheal tube insertion and removal.
    • Experience assisting with bronchoscopy and percutaneous tracheostomy procedures.
