    Contract | Night Shift | 13-Week Assignment | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provides intensive respiratory care including operation of invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices to administer prescribed medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation.
    • Performs chest physiotherapy, suctioning (oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal), oximetry and capnography monitoring, pulmonary function studies, and arterial puncture.
    • Performs tracheostomy care including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes (emergent and non-emergent), as well as chest drainage via PleurX catheter or similar device.
    • Assists with respiratory-related procedures such as bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, and chest tube placement; performs 12-Lead EKG and basic arrhythmia recognition.
    • Performs insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes via freehand technique and/or video laryngoscope; conducts cardiopulmonary resuscitation per BLS and ACLS guidelines.
    • Documents all treatments, patient responses, and respiratory therapy charges accurately; communicates patient status during shift-to-shift handoff rounds.
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Respiratory Therapist license in good standing.
    • Current BLS and ACLS certification.
    • Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain mechanical ventilation equipment and perform ventilator set-up and self-testing.
    • Experience performing arterial puncture and interpreting results to assess ventilation efficiency.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision and within the full scope of professional licensure.
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience in moderate complexity laboratory testing including specimen handling, quality controls, and documentation.
    • Familiarity with routine chest x-ray review to identify the need for further clinical evaluation.
    • Prior travel or contract assignment experience in an acute care or hospital setting.
