Job Title

Respiratory Therapist (Night Shift)

Contract | Night Shift (19:00–07:30) | Every Other Weekend and Week on / Week off Rotation

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed, evaluating patients and recommending treatment plans within the scope of professional licensure
  • Conduct physician-prescribed respiratory treatments utilizing invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices to administer prescribed medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation
  • Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning, oximetry and capnography monitoring, pulmonary function studies, arterial puncture, and routine chest x-ray review
  • Assist with respiratory-related procedures including bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, and chest tube placement; perform tracheostomy care including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes
  • Perform 12-Lead EKG, basic arrhythmia recognition, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation per BLS and ACLS guidelines; perform endotracheal tube insertion and removal
  • Set up, self-test, operate, and monitor mechanical ventilation equipment; accurately document all treatments, patient responses, and respiratory therapy charges in the patient chart
Required Qualifications
  • Active Respiratory Therapist license in good standing
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification
  • Proficiency with invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen delivery systems, and aerosol and nebulizer devices
  • Ability to perform arterial puncture, pulmonary function studies, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • Strong documentation skills with ability to accurately record treatments, patient responses, and charging data
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience in a moderate complexity laboratory setting with knowledge of specimen handling, quality controls, and equipment maintenance
  • Familiarity with video laryngoscope systems for endotracheal intubation
  • Experience assisting with bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomy, and chest tube placement procedures
