Job Title

Respiratory Therapist (Night)

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide intensive respiratory care including operation of invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices as prescribed by physician
  • Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning, oximetry, capnography monitoring, pulmonary function studies, and 12-Lead EKG with basic arrhythmia recognition
  • Assist with respiratory-related procedures including bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, chest tube placement, and tracheostomy care including tube insertion and removal
  • Perform arterial punctures, interpret results to assess ventilation efficiency, and document and report findings accurately
  • Set up, self-test, operate, and monitor mechanical ventilation equipment; assist with preventative maintenance and repair as needed
  • Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation per BLS and ACLS guidelines and participate in shift-to-shift handoff communication during walking rounds
Required Qualifications
  • Active Respiratory Therapist license in good standing
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification
  • Proficiency with invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment and respiratory care modalities
  • Ability to perform arterial punctures and interpret blood gas results
  • Ability to work night shifts with minimal supervision
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience with moderate complexity laboratory testing procedures including specimen handling, quality controls, and documentation
  • Familiarity with video laryngoscope systems for endotracheal intubation
  • Experience with PleurX catheter drainage or similar chest drainage devices
