Contract | Night Shift | Every Other Weekend Commitment | 13-Week Assignment

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide intensive respiratory care including operation of invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices as physician prescribed
  • Perform arterial punctures, pulmonary function studies, chest physiotherapy, suctioning, oximetry, and capnography monitoring per policy
  • Assist with respiratory-related procedures including bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, chest tube placement, and tracheostomy care including tube insertion and removal
  • Perform 12-Lead EKG, basic arrhythmia recognition, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation per BLS and ACLS guidelines
  • Set up, self-test, operate, and monitor mechanical ventilation equipment; assist with preventative maintenance and repair as needed
  • Accurately document treatments, patient responses, and respiratory therapy charges; communicate patient status during shift-to-shift handoff rounds
Required Qualifications
  • Active Respiratory Therapist license in good standing
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification
  • Experience operating invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment
  • Ability to perform arterial punctures and interpret results to assess ventilation efficiency
  • Ability to perform endotracheal tube insertion and removal via freehand technique and/or video laryngoscope
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience in moderate complexity laboratory testing including specimen handling, quality controls, and documentation
  • Familiarity with PleurX catheter drainage procedures
  • Experience with pulmonary function studies such as NIF and VC measurements
