Travel RN Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF)

Location: Amsterdam, NY
Schedule: 5 8-hour shifts | Must be available for at least 4 8-hour shifts
Shift: Overnight 10:00 PM 6:30 AM
Every Other Weekend Required
Holiday Availability Required

About the Opportunity

A skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in Amsterdam, NY is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) to join its team on a contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced LTC/SNF nurse who is comfortable working independently on the overnight shift and has prior travel nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to residents in a skilled nursing/long-term care setting.

• Assess residents, monitor changes in condition, and implement appropriate nursing interventions.

• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility policies.

• Manage and care for PICC lines and other IV-related needs.

• Accurately document resident care using MatrixCare.

• Communicate effectively with physicians, residents, families, and the interdisciplinary care team.

• Supervise and support nursing staff as needed.

• Respond appropriately to changes in resident condition, particularly during overnight hours.

• Escalate clinical concerns to the appropriate provider or facility leadership.

• Maintain compliance with facility policies, NYS regulations, and applicable standards of care.

Requirements

• Active New York State RN license required.

• BLS certification required.

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in an SNF/LTC setting.

• Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in LTC required.

• Previous travel/contract nursing experience required, preferably with demonstrated contract renewals.

• Experience managing PICC lines required.

• Experience with MatrixCare preferred/required.

• Must be willing and able to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.

• Must be available to work every other weekend.

• Must be able to commit to at least four 8-hour shifts per week.

• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and time-management skills required.

Important Facility Requirements

• 10:00 PM 6:30 AM overnight shifts only.

• Candidates must be willing and able to work holidays.

• Every other weekend is required.

• The facility will not consider former employees as travelers; previous staff members are not eligible for this travel/contract opportunity.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is an experienced LTC/SNF RN with strong clinical and supervisory skills who can work independently during overnight hours. Candidates with prior travel nursing experience, successful contract renewals, PICC-line experience, and familiarity with MatrixCare are strongly preferred.
