Unit Overview

  • 115-bed community hospital with a collaborative, family-oriented culture.
  • Dedicated Cath Lab with 1:1 patient ratios during procedures.
  • Team-based environment with highly engaged leadership focused on department success.
  • Staffing includes Cath Lab RNs and Technologists working in 3-person procedure and call teams.

Schedule

  • Four 10-hour shifts per week (4x10s).
  • Required call:
    • Approximately 8 weekday call shifts per month.
    • Up to 6 weekend call days per month.

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN License.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Cath Lab experience.
  • Experience in both diagnostic cardiac catheterization and PCI procedures.
  • Previous community hospital and/or mixed Cath Lab/Interventional Radiology experience preferred.

Required Skills

  • Cath Lab circulating.
  • Hemodynamic monitoring.
  • Moderate/conscious sedation administration.
  • Diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures.
  • Pre- and post-procedure patient care.

Preferred Skills

  • Interventional Radiology (IR).
  • Special Procedures.
  • Vascular and endovascular procedures.

Procedures Performed

  • Left and right heart catheterizations.
  • Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI).
  • Rotational Atherectomy (Rotablator).
  • Coronary Orbital Atherectomy (CSI).
  • Shockwave Intravascular Lithotripsy.
  • Impella support device cases.
  • Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP).
  • Fractional Flow Reserve (FFR).
  • Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS).

Equipment & Systems

  • Client X-ray equipment.
  • Alaris infusion pumps.
  • Merge Hemo documentation system.
  • Meditech EMR.

Floating Requirements

  • No floating outside of Cardiology/Imaging service lines.
  • RNs may support Cardiology patients in:
    • Non-Invasive Cardiology
    • CT
    • MRI
    • Nuclear Medicine

Dress Code

  • Red scrub top and red scrub pants, or
  • Black scrub top with red scrub pants.
  • Ceil blue scrubs are also acceptable.
