Location: San Luis Obispo, California

Department/Unit: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Salary Range: $40 to $55 per hour

Shift: Night Shift (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)

Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week; may float to step-down unit as needed

Duration: 13 weeks (Contract)

Job Description

Elitecare Medical Staffing is seeking an experienced and dedicated Travel Registered Nurse (RN) for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in San Luis Obispo, California. This role is vital for providing high-quality, specialized care to critically ill patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assess patients’ conditions, documenting any changes and responding promptly to critical situations.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment options and recovery processes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU setting preferred.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
