Interventional Radiology RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Iowa
• At least 1 year of professional nursing experience; Interventional Radiology, procedural nursing, or related procedural setting experience strongly preferred
• Current BLS certification
• Current PALS certification
• Strong patient assessment, communication, organization, and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and participate in weekend and holiday call coverage
• Commitment to patient safety, procedural standards, infection prevention, and compassionate patient care

Interventional Radiology RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients before, during, and after interventional radiology procedures
• Complete patient assessments, medication reconciliation, education, and preparation for image-guided procedures
• Monitor patients during procedures, recognize changes in condition, and respond promptly to clinical needs
• Support radiology and procedural teams with safe, efficient, and evidence-based nursing interventions
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses according to established protocols
• Deliver post-procedure care, including recovery assessment, discharge education, and follow-up instructions
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold infection prevention and patient safety practices
• Collaborate effectively with radiologists, physicians, technologists, nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Participate in assigned weekend, holiday, and on-call coverage
