Position: Registered Nurse (RN) Location: New York License Required: Current NYS RN License
Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care while promoting health, preventing illness and injury, and supporting patients and their families. The RN will follow the New York State Nurse Practice Act, facility policies, ANA standards, and applicable nursing regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Assess, plan, implement, coordinate, delegate, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients.
Serve as a primary or accountable nurse based on unit assignment and patient needs.
Administer medications safely in accordance with facility policies.
Educate patients and families regarding health promotion and disease management.
Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
Demonstrate effective time management and appropriate use of staffing, supplies, and other resources.
Follow all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, safety procedures, and facility policies.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, Unit Council activities, shared governance, and peer review.
Maintain professional development and complete required continuing education and mandatory training.
Apply current nursing research and evidence-based practices to patient care.
Support and mentor new employees and nursing students.
Promote a caring, healing, and patient-centered environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Current New York State RN License.
Current BLS certification from AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross.
At least 6 months of RN experience.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Excellent judgment and critical-thinking abilities.
Strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills.
Problem-solving, reliability, quality, and safety-focused mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute-care or ambulatory setting.
BSN preferred.
Professional certification in a related nursing specialty.
Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or TNCC, depending on the assigned unit.
