Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring at least one year of experience and an active OK or compact RN license.

Details

• Med/Surg unit located on the 3rd/4th floor of a hospital
• Cares for a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts per week (48-hour schedules not available)
• 36 hours per week

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
• Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills

Additional Information

• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients and documents nursing interventions and treatment responses
• Assists physicians with examinations, minor diagnostic procedures, and treatments
• Obtains and monitors physiological data, intervening as necessary
• Administers medications and manages IV infusions and blood products
• Communicates care plans with patients and families, including at discharge
• Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Compliance deadlines are strictly enforced, and start dates will not be pushed for incomplete documentation
• Travelers who extend must complete a 6-month separation after 26 weeks before reapplying
