Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Med-Surg/Telemetry Oncology unit. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with oncology diagnoses, chemotherapy-related needs, cardiac monitoring requirements, and complex medical conditions.

Please Note: Acute-care experience must be current and consistent within the last 12 months, and the experience must be in the specialty for which the candidate is applying. This is a hard-stop requirement.

Responsible

• Provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a Med-Surg/Telemetry Oncology setting.
• Monitor patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring.
• Care for patients with various oncology diagnoses, including breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, and esophageal cancers.
• Provide care for patients receiving chemotherapy and symptom management.
• Perform cardiac monitoring and respond to emergencies.
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias.
• Administer medications and manage PCA therapy.
• Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, and IV starts/maintenance.
• Access and manage implanted ports.
• Provide tracheostomy care and management.
• Manage BiPAP/CPAP as needed.
• Manage chest tubes, including Emerson/PleurEvac systems.
• Titrate insulin drips as required.
• Follow infection prevention and fall-prevention protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Float to other Med-Surg Oncology units as required.

Requirements

• Active RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required.
• Current acute-care experience within the last 12 months required.
• Current Med-Surg/Telemetry experience required.
• Epic experience required.
• BLS certification required.
