Unit Overview

This Med/Surg Orthopedic unit focuses on post-operative orthopedic care, trauma recovery, and general medical-surgical patients. Ideal for nurses experienced in joint replacements, fractures, and post-surgical recovery.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor condition changes
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Provide post-operative orthopedic care (joint replacements, fractures, spine cases)
  • Administer medications, IV therapy, and pain management
  • Deliver patient education on recovery and mobility
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, PT/OT
  • Monitor and evaluate treatment plans and outcomes
  • Maintain accurate documentation per hospital standards
  • May float to Med/Surg or related units as needed
  • Participate in on-call rotation if required

Education:

  • ASN required | BSN preferred

Licensure:

  • Active RN License (Montana or Compact)

Certifications (Required):

  • BLS (AHA)

Additional Certifications (Preferred):

  • ACLS (AHA)

Experience:

  • Prior Med/Surg and/or Orthopedic experience preferred
  • Experience with post-op care, mobility assistance, and pain management
