Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift travel position requiring a NM or compact RN license and at least 1 year of med/surg experience at a Level II trauma center.

Details

• Work in the Medical Unit of a 198-bed Level II trauma center hospital
• 43-bed unit caring for adult patients aged 18 and older
• Patient ratios of 1:5 and 1:6
• Common diagnoses include cirrhosis, sepsis, pneumonia, respiratory illness, wounds, and CHF
• Uses vital sign machines, bladder scanners, IV pumps, thermal imaging, lifts, and tube feeding pumps
• Utilizes Cerner EHR system
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 36 hours per week guaranteed
• Staff recommended to work at least 2 weekend shifts per month
• Floating required based on facility needs
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active RN license (NM state or Compact) currently in hand
• BLS certification required (must be AHA)
• ADN required
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required, 2 years preferred
• Med/Surg experience preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred but not required
• Oncology skills helpful but not necessary

Additional Information

• Provide medical-surgical nursing care to adult patients with a variety of acute and chronic conditions
• Work under the supervision of unit management team
• Block scheduling may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Facility is a Level II trauma center serving the Four Corners region of New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah
