Job Opportunity

Position Overview

We are seeking dedicated Registered Nurses to join our team for a 12-hour rotating contract on a medical-surgical oncology unit. The position involves working day and night shifts, depending on departmental requirements. The shift assignments will be reviewed every four weeks, but changes are not guaranteed and will be based on staffing priorities.

Unit Information

The primary focus of the 19 James unit includes:

• Continuous cardiac monitoring related to chemotherapy administration
• Caring for patients with soft tissue malignancies receiving diagnostic services, chemotherapy, and symptom management
• Management of symptoms associated with disease treatment or progression
• Addressing comorbidities effectively
• A strong emphasis on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention

Special Equipment

• B450 monitors (GE telemetry system)
• Bladder Scanner
• Alaris pumps
• Stryker beds

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
• Certification: BCLS
• Patient-to-nurse ratio: 1:4
• Willingness to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Previous travel experience preferred
• EPIC experience required

• Blood product administration
• Central line care and management
• PICC line management
• IV start
• Assistance with chest tube insertion and removal
• High flow nasal cannula (HFNC) management
