Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours/Week

Position Overview

San Juan Regional Medical Center is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse Medical Surgical for a 13-week night-shift assignment. The RN will provide care to adult and geriatric patients in a 43-bed medical unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to Medical/Surgical patients.

• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment.

• Administer medications and treatments as ordered.

• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

• Manage patients with conditions including sepsis, pneumonia, CHF, cirrhosis, respiratory illnesses, and wounds.

• Utilize IV pumps, bladder scanners, vital-sign machines, lifts, tube-feeding pumps, and other unit equipment.

• Float to other areas as needed based on facility requirements.

• Maintain accurate documentation in Cerner EHR.

• Follow facility policies, safety standards, and infection-control procedures.

• Beds: 43

• Patient Ratio: 1:5 to 1:6

• Patient Population: Adults and geriatric patients (18+)

• EHR: Cerner

• Call: None

• Weekend Requirement: At least 2 weekend shifts per month recommended

• Floating: As needed per facility

Requirements

• Active RN license

• ADN required

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience; 2 years preferred

• Medical/Surgical experience preferred

• BLS AHA required

• Strong clinical assessment and patient-care skills

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Charge Nurse experience preferred, but not required

• Oncology experience/skills helpful, but not required

• Previous travel nursing experience is a plus
