Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Ortho/Trauma Unit position requiring at least one year of RN experience, charge nurse experience, and an Oklahoma or compact RN license.

Details

  • Position is based in an acute care hospital Ortho/Trauma Unit
  • Cares for a variety of orthopedic and trauma patients with conditions ranging from simple to complex
  • Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC) required
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
  • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
  • Charge nurse experience required
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

  • Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, including administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, and obtaining physiological data
  • Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and physician orders, and assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
  • Interacts with patients and families regarding care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge planning; delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
  • All certifications must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period after 26 weeks of total employment before being eligible for a new contract
  • Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screens, background checks, and medical documentation) must begin immediately upon acceptance of an offer — start dates will not be adjusted for non-compliance
  • Date of birth (DOB) will be required for consideration
  • BSN is preferred but not required
