Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Step Down position requiring at least 1 year of MS/SD experience and a compact or OK RN license.

• Hospital-based Med Specialty Step Down unit
• Cares for a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• Night shift schedule
• 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
• Med/Surg Step Down experience required
• ICU experience and ACLS certification preferred
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• NIHSS certification required

Additional Information

• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients and documents nursing interventions and treatment responses
• Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Monitors physiological data and intervenes as necessary
• Administers medications and initiates, regulates, and monitors IV infusions and blood products
• Communicates care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
• Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Facility enforces strict compliance deadlines and will not negotiate start dates once booked
• Travelers may extend one time for a total of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
