Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN Nurse Coordinator for an outpatient oncology center, requiring active MA licensure and prior HemOnc care coordination experience.

Details

• Ambulatory oncology clinic supporting medical oncology physicians and nurse practitioners
• Coordinates patient care throughout the cancer treatment journey, including referrals and follow-up
• Performs telephone triage and manages symptom management calls
• Coordinates referrals to VNA, Hospice, DME, and other specialists
• Sets up imaging and IR procedures and obtains authorization for specialty oral chemotherapy drugs
• Schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (8-hour day shift)
• 13-week assignment
• No floating or charge responsibilities required

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• 2+ years of oncology experience required, preferably outpatient care coordination
• Strong phone triage skills and symptom management knowledge
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Proficient computer and telephone triage skills

Additional Information

• Works closely with a collaborative team of physicians and nurse practitioners
• Provides teaching and coordinates patient appointments to improve overall patient experience
• Serves as a point of contact for patients with questions prior to starting chemotherapy
• Weekly orientation held every Monday, barring holidays
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Previous Beth Israel Lahey Health employees (travel, perm, or per diem) must have a 6-month break before returning
• COVID vaccine plus booster and flu vaccine required, with medical exemptions allowed
• All RTO requests must be submitted at time of consideration
