Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care as a Travel RN-OR Circulator in California.

• Ensure patient safety and aseptic technique throughout the surgical procedure.

• Manage surgical count, instrument, and sponge tracking to prevent errors.

• Coordinate intraoperative workflow with surgical team to optimize efficiency.

• Demonstrate adaptability by traveling to multiple sites as required.

• Comply with all regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., OSHA, JCAHO).

• Meet productivity targets and contribute to pipeline-informed planning for case volume.

• Communicate clearly with surgeons and team members to anticipate needs.

• Document intraoperative events and assist with post-anesthesia handoff.

• Participate in ongoing professional development and apply new techniques in practice.

• Maintain equipment readiness and report maintenance or repair needs promptly.

Experience/Qualifications

• RN license in California with perioperative/OR experience.

• Ability to travel between multiple sites as needed.

• Proven proficiency with surgical counts, instrument and sponge tracking.

• Demonstrated aseptic technique and infection control compliance.

• Compliance with OSHA, JCAHO/Joint Commission standards and other regulations.

• Certification in perioperative nursing (CNOR) preferred.

• Excellent communication with surgeons and OR team; effective handoffs.

• Strong documentation skills for intraoperative events and post-anesthesia handoff.

• Ability to work toward productivity targets and contribute to case-forecast planning.

• Commitment to ongoing professional development and adoption of new techniques.
