Unit Information: 3 North Post Partum / (660)
  • Number of Beds – 23 beds
  • Number of Staff – approximately 80 staff members on mom/baby
  • Type of staff:
    • Day Shift –1 charge, 2-3 CNAs, 9-10 RNs on the floor, 3-4 RNs in the nursery
    • Night Shift – 1 charge, 9-10 RNs on the floor, 2-3 RNs in the nursery
  • Patient Ratios – 3 or 4:1 -  Estimated ratios, not guaranteed
  • Type of equipment – main computer system-CPN
  • EMR - Meditech / CPN
Typical hiring profile
Skill Set Most recruited for:  (Travel RNs)
Must have :  candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.
  • Minimum 1-year current acute care hospital Postpartum/M/B experience
  • BLS & NRP
Preferred or nice to have :  candidates with these skills will be considered first.
  • Experience in a Mother/Baby Unit
  • Flexibility with their schedule
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new situations
List typical procedures performed on unit(s):   
  •  Monitoring Vital signs and administering medications and managing perineal care
  •  Educating parents on newborn care, safety, and bonding
