Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Skilled Nursing and Rehab position requiring IL licensure, 2+ years of experience, and night shift availability with every-other-weekend rotation.

- >Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Units within a Long-Term Care (LTC) facility functioning similarly to a Med-Surg unit
- Patient population includes Dementia and surgical patients receiving specialized medical and rehabilitation care, including IV medications and wound care
- Direct patient care with ratios of up to 20 residents; average daily census of 72
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (18:30-7:00)
- Every-other-weekend rotation required upon center request
- No on-call responsibilities
- Works closely with CNA/HCA staff
- Uses lifting equipment for resident transfers
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required (license in hand preferred; pending license accepted with proof)
- Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required, preferably in LTC/SNF/Assisted Living/Med-Surg settings
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and IV Therapy
- Skills in IV Therapy/Medication administration, starting and maintaining IVs, and Central Line/PICC care
- LPN/LVN candidates must hold IV certification (certificate of completion, license notation, or transcript proof accepted)
- Rehab experience with strong Med/Surg and acute care background helpful but not required
- Dementia training or experience highly recommended
- Strong customer service skills required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care to residents in a Skilled Nursing and Rehab setting, including administering IV medications and wound care
- Collaborate closely with CNA/HCA team members to support resident care
- Scrub attire: any shade of blue
- Free on-site parking available
- RTO requests must be approved at time of submission; requests will not be approved after offer is extended
- No more than 7 days of RTO permitted per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of orientation
- Cannot request every holiday off
- Call-outs require more than 24 hours advance notice
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted
- Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius to qualify for travel rate; local candidates within 50 miles may be booked at local rate
- Standard travelers may stay for up to 18 months, followed by a required 3-month break in service
- Former permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any facility within the health system as a traveler
