Title: Travel RN Telemetry
Location: Alexandria, Louisiana 71301
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift/Schedule: Nights (7:00 PM 7:00 AM), Every other weekend
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care for cardiac and telemetry patients (not a stepdown unit)
- Independently manage routine and complex patient care in a telemetry setting
- Perform patient assessments, diagnosis, care planning, interventions, and evaluations
- Administer medications and treatments while monitoring patient response and side effects
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and nursing care provided
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding treatment plans and resources
- Delegate responsibilities appropriately to support patient care management
- Follow ANA standards and Client nursing competencies
Requirements:
- Active RN License in state of employment or Compact License required
- BLS certification from AHA required
- ACLS certification from AHA required
- 1+ year of related nursing specialty experience preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Preferences:
- Experience with cardiac and telemetry patient populations preferred
- Prior telemetry nursing experience preferred
- Ability to work every other weekend
- Temp-to-perm interest preferred
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: approximately 5:1 to 6:1 depending on staffing
