Registered Nurse - Neurosurgery and Trauma Specialty

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00). Every 3rd weekend requirement.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with experience in Neurosurgery and Level 1 Trauma care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background in managing complex patient diagnoses such as vascular and thoracic surgeries, orthopedic interventions, liver transplants, and trauma cases, including motor vehicle accidents and gunshot wounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients.
• Monitor vital signs and manage life-supporting technologies.
• Administer medications and IV fluids as prescribed.
• Assist in procedures including central line and chest tube insertion.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EPIC).

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 2 years of experience in an acute care setting.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required; TNCC preferred.
• Valid PA or Compact RN license required at the time of submission.
• Experience in Level 1 Trauma care preferred.
• Ability to float to different units as needed.
