Position Overview
The RN will work in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) and may also be required to float to the Step-Down Unit based on facility needs. The position requires strong critical-care experience, including airway management and IV drip management.
Clinical Skills
- IV therapy
- Arterial line management
- Central line care and management
- Airway management
- Care of ventilated patients
- ABG interpretation
- Continuous IV sedation
- Titration of vasoactive drips
- Cardiac monitoring and emergency response
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- Isolation precautions/PPE
Required Certifications
- ACLS – Required
- BLS – Required
- NIHSS – Required
Requirements & Additional Details
- 2+ years of ICU experience required
- Epic experience required
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Travel experience required
- 1:3 patient ratio experience
- Every-other-weekend coverage required
- No call
- Must float to Step-Down/SDU as needed
- Must be willing to float within scope based on facility needs
- Pending license accepted, but must be active before start date
- RTO exceeding 7 days requires approval
- Guaranteed hours
- Block scheduling not available
- Locals not accepted
