Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Surgical ICU position requiring 2 years of specialty experience and hemodynamic monitoring skills including CVP and CRRT

Details

• Surgical ICU setting with potential transplant, cardiac, and high acuity ICU patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (18:45-07:15)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating potentially required to other ICUs and step-down units
• No call-in required
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Active RN license (Compact or LA) required in hand upon consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications required)
• Minimum 2 years of Surgical ICU experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required (first-time travelers not accepted)
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, CVP monitoring, and CRRT required (hardstop requirement)
• Experience with post cardiac surgery care and pre/post cardiac cath intervention required
• IV therapy experience required, including blood product administration, central line management, and PICC line management
• Drip titration experience required
• Experience with chest tube insertion/removal and care of ventilated patients required
• Up-to-date NURSYS report required (within 4 weeks of consideration)

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to surgical ICU patients including those recovering from cardiac and transplant procedures
• Preferred experience includes liver, kidney, pancreas, heart, and lung transplant recovery, as well as LVAD/RVAD and high acuity ICU care
• Two manager or supervisor references required to obtain clearance to start contract (charge RN references not accepted)
• Must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
• Orientation held 5 days a week
• Candidates must live more than 65 miles from the facility to be eligible
• RTO must be disclosed and discussed during the interview process
• Previous permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must be separated from the health system for 1 full year before returning as a traveler
• May be assigned to an emergency response team during declared emergency events, with expectation to remain onsite or serve as part of a relief team
