POSITION SUMMARY – LMSW Outpatient Therapist

POSITION DUTIES – Adult Outpatient Therapist in the Adult Behavioral Health Program. Deliver clinical services to adults and families, including intake evaluations, person-centered assessments, and both individual and group therapy. Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, primary care providers, schools, and other support systems to ensure coordinated care, while maintaining state licensure and meeting all contractual and agency requirements. Participate in supervision, team meetings, and case consultations, completes timely documentation, adheres to professional ethical standards, and coordinates effective discharge planning. Ongoing training in the treatment of adult mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders is required, along with performing additional duties as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of a master’s degree in social work, Psychology or Counseling
  • Possess the corresponding State of Michigan licensure - LLMSW, LLPC, TLLP, LMSW, LPC or LLP.
  • Must obtain the Qualified Mental Health Professional credential within 120 days of hire.
  • One year of experience (may include time spent in fieldwork or internship) treating or working with people who have been diagnosed with mental illness.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and attention to detail skills in order to track and prepare data accurately and timely.
  • Ability interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
  • Individual programs may have additional requirements.
  • Additional requirements include: cultural competency, ability to work effectively with a diverse population, the ability to engage and maintain therapeutic relationships with youth and families in a variety of modes of treatment, the ability to develop collaborative relationships with other unit staff and providers, effective communication skills, and a willingness to be flexible.

LENGTH OF ASSIGNMENT – Ongoing

SHIFT / HOURS PER WEEK – 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM. Some evening or weekend hours will be required. 37.5 hours per week.
