Centra Healthcare Solutions is seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher (SPED) that is certified in the state of practice to work in a school setting. This is a contract, full time position. Duties and Responsibilities Include: Complete required facility orientation. Ensure health, safety & welfare of individuals. Conduct formal and informal assessments of educational programs and behavior interventions. Supervise Teacher's Assistants/Aides and participate in the implementation of educational programs and behavior interventions. Implement and adhere to IEP/Student Program. Supervise and implement completion of program/student documentation. Supervise and delegate responsibilities to Teacher's Assistants/Aides. Complete and maintain training requirements. Complete required program documentation/certifications (e.g. Employee Medicals, PPD, CPR, etc. as required). Interact/communicate with parents, college interns, professionals, and other interested visitors. Punctuality and regular attendance is expected. Maintain participant/family confidentiality. Commitment to company values and adherence to policies. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors and/or senior management. Requirements include: Bachelor's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education along with an NYS certification in at least one of the following areas: Nursery - Grade 6 General Education, Early Childhood (B-2) General Education, Childhood Education (Grades 1-6), Special Education (all grades), Students w/ Disabilities (B-2), Students w/ Disabilities (1-6), or Pre-K - Grade 6 General Education Experience with Autism and Applied Behavior Analysis preferred. Ability to run. Ability to safely assist lifting individuals of various weights & 20 lb items. Clearance through state mandated Background/Fingerprint Check(s).
