The role focuses on helping students access the general education curriculum. The goal is to help students develop academic and life skills. It aims for students to achieve educational goals in the least restrictive environment. Key Responsibilities include: Instruction & Student Support Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students’ learning needs and abilities. Adapt curriculum, teaching methods, and materials to support diverse learners. Provide small-group and individualized instruction. Support students in developing academic, social, behavioral, and life skills. IEP Development & Implementation Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs. Write measurable goals and objectives aligned with student needs. Track and report student progress toward goals. Ensure compliance with federal regulations. Assessment & Data Collection Conduct formal and informal assessments to evaluate student performance. Use data to guide instruction and adjust interventions. Participate in reevaluations and eligibility determinations. Collaboration & Team Participation Work closely with general education teachers and related service providers. Participate in team meetings and multidisciplinary planning. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress and needs. Behavior Management Implement behavior intervention strategies and plans. Promote positive behavior and a supportive classroom environment. Support students with social-emotional and behavioral challenges. Documentation & Compliance Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and service documentation. Ensure confidentiality and compliance with laws. Follow district policies and procedures. Skills & Competencies include: Strong instructional and classroom management skills.
