Description:

Special Education Teacher – SCI/SXI (Severe Cognitive Impairment / Severe Multiple Impairment)Shift Details

• Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:10 PM
• Program: SCI/SXI (Severe Cognitive Impairment / Severe Multiple Impairment)
• Caseload: 12–15 students

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEPs aligned with student goals
• Provide differentiated instruction based on individual learning needs
• Collect and document progress monitoring data
• Collaborate with related service providers, paraprofessionals, administrators, and families
• Maintain compliance with IDEA and district special education requirements
• Foster a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment

Requirements

• Valid Michigan Special Education certification
• Cognitive Impairment (SA or CI) endorsement required
• Previous experience working with students with cognitive impairments preferred
• Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
