This travel assignment puts you in a long-term care setting where an SLP supports residents with communication and swallowing needs. The assignment is coordinated through Healthforce Healthcare LLC.

Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech-language pathology evaluations for residents with communication, cognitive-communication, voice, fluency, and swallowing concerns.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans with clear short- and longer-term goals.
- Provide direct therapy in individual or small-group sessions; apply evidence-based techniques to improve communication and swallowing safety.
- Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge planning in the electronic health record; ensure accurate and timely charting.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (nursing, rehab therapy, dietitian, social work) to optimize patient outcomes and facilitate safe discharge planning.
- Educate residents and family members on strategies to support communication, feeding safety, and daily life participation.
Requirements
- Active Speech-Language Pathologist license in Rhode Island (or eligible for RI licensure)
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Experience in acute care and/or long-term care settings preferred
- Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment for a 13-week travel assignment
