Responsibilities
- Effectively screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders; develop and implement an appropriate plan of care following regulatory and clinical standards.
- Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions; document patient progress and adjust treatments in the clinical record per policy.
- Evaluate treatment outcomes and modify services; determine referrals based on outcomes and patient needs; provide comprehensive discharge summaries per regulatory requirements.
- Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers related to speech disorders; communicate progress, barriers, and plans with the supervisor and health team.
- Maintain thorough documentation of regulatory and clinically required information in the electronic system; record treatment minutes to meet all regulatory requirements.
- Participate in required meetings (care conferences, utilization reviews, rehabilitation meetings) and complete facility trainings and in-services; supervise CFY or student SLPs as assigned.

Requirements
- Active Missouri State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- CCC-SLP certification
- Minimum 1 year of SLP experience, with LTC or Rehab experience preferred
- New graduates may be considered with Level II experience (not a Level I observation)
- Ability to work in a long-term care / rehabilitation setting
- Active ASHA certification and adherence to state practice acts
