Job Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Travel Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. The SLP will provide individualized therapy, monitor progress, educate patients and caregivers, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team while adapting to different clinical environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing evaluations.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals.
  • Provide therapy for speech, language, voice, cognition, and communication disorders.
  • Evaluate and treat dysphagia and swallowing difficulties.
  • Recommend appropriate communication strategies, adaptive equipment, and assistive devices.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on therapy techniques, communication strategies, and safe swallowing practices.
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
  • Maintain accurate evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports, and discharge documentation.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Adapt quickly to different facilities, workflows, and patient populations.
  • Follow infection prevention, HIPAA, patient safety, and facility policies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Active Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license in the state of practice.
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred/required as applicable.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Speech-Language Pathology experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
  • Excellent communication, clinical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with EMR systems preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous travel healthcare experience preferred.
  • Experience in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient, SNF, home health, or long-term care settings.
  • Experience with dysphagia management and instrumental swallowing assessments preferred.
  • Experience treating stroke, neurological, geriatric, post-surgical, and medically complex patients.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new clinical environments and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
