Job Overview
We are seeking a licensed Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for a 13-week travel contract assignment in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. The SLP will evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in a rehabilitation setting.
This role requires strong clinical expertise, patient-centered care, and the ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary therapy team to improve functional communication outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate patients with speech, language, and swallowing disorders
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
Provide therapy to improve communication and cognitive function
Conduct swallowing assessments and recommend safe diet modifications
Document patient progress and treatment outcomes
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and rehab professionals
Educate patients and families on communication strategies
Maintain accurate clinical documentation in compliance with facility standards
Support rehabilitation goals to improve patient independence
Requirements
Active Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) license required
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology required
ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) preferred or required depending on facility
Minimum 1 year of clinical SLP experience preferred
Experience in skilled nursing or rehab setting preferred
Current BLS certification required
Strong assessment, communication, and treatment planning skills
Must comply with facility health and safety requirements
Valid government-issued photo identification required
