Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for a 14-week contract assignment in Pleasant Hill, California. The SLP will provide evaluation and treatment services for patients experiencing speech, language, cognitive, communication, and swallowing disorders within a rehabilitation and skilled nursing environment.
This role requires strong clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support positive patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate patients for speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals
Provide speech therapy services to improve communication and swallowing function
Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate
Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, therapists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Educate patients and families on therapy techniques and treatment plans
Ensure compliance with facility policies, patient safety standards, and documentation requirements
Requirements
Active Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) license required
Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology required
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required by facility standards
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
Previous experience in rehabilitation, skilled nursing, or long-term care settings preferred
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of dysphagia management, speech therapy techniques, and patient care standards
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams
