Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist Profession: Therapy Specialty: Speech-Language Pathology Duration: Full-Time Shift: Not specified Hours Per Shift: 37.5 Experience: School-based experience preferred License: Speech-Language Pathologist License in good standing Certifications: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred Must-Have: - Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders from an accredited institution. - Texas education credentials as required by state regulations. Description: The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating students in grades K-12 with speech, language, voice, fluency, resonance, and social communication disorders. The SLP serves as both a direct service provider and consultant to educators, families, and campus teams. The goal is to ensure that students receive appropriate interventions and support services that allow them to access and succeed in the educational environment. The SLP supports the mission of helping students with communication disorders make meaningful educational progress. The SLP helps develop the skills necessary for students to lead successful and independent lives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Student Evaluation & Assessment Conduct speech-language screenings, evaluations, and re-evaluations. Assess students referred for suspected speech or language impairments. Observe students and collect educational, developmental, and behavioral data. Review educational records, teacher reports, and parent input during the evaluation process. Determine eligibility for speech-language services in accordance with state and federal regulations. Prepare comprehensive evaluation reports and recommendations. IEP & Special Education Services Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Establish measurable communication goals and objectives. Participate in meetings concerning student evaluations and decisions. Present evaluation findings and recommendations to families and educational teams. Monitor student progress toward IEP goals and revise interventions as needed. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and requirements. Therapy & Intervention Provide individual and group speech-language therapy services. Deliver evidence-based interventions targeting various speech and language disorders. Document therapy sessions and student progress. Maintain accurate service logs and clinical records. Develop classroom-based intervention strategies when appropriate. Consultation & Collaboration Serve as a resource regarding speech and language development. Collaborate with educators and related service providers. Support educators in differentiating instruction for students with communication challenges. Provide recommendations for classroom accommodations and instructional supports. Assist families in understanding communication disorders and available services. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of speech and language disorders, assessment tools, and intervention techniques. Understanding of relevant compliance requirements. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Strong organizational and documentation skills. Ability to manage multiple evaluations, therapy schedules, and compliance timelines. Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student-centered practices. Physical Requirements: Ability to provide services in classroom, therapy, and school environments. Ability to move between locations within an assigned region when necessary. Ability to use educational technology and electronic documentation systems. Ability to participate in meetings, evaluations, and student support activities throughout the day.
