Description

Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist Profession: Speech-Language Pathology Specialty: Communication Disorders Shift: 7.5 Day Experience: Experience in a school setting preferred License: Valid state SLP license Certifications: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred or eligibility required Must-Have: Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders Description: The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) provides evaluation, diagnosis, and therapeutic services to students with speech, language, and communication disorders. The SLP supports students’ academic success by addressing communication needs and collaborating with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Key Responsibilities: Conduct speech, language, and communication evaluations using standardized and informal assessments. Interpret evaluation results and determine eligibility for services. Prepare detailed evaluation reports and recommendations. Develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals for students. Provide direct and indirect speech-language therapy services. Address articulation, fluency, voice, expressive/receptive language, and social communication skills. Adapt therapy plans based on student progress. Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate in goal development. Serve as a key member of the special education team. Maintain compliance with federal regulations. Work closely with teachers, administrators, school psychologists, occupational therapists, and other specialists. Consult with staff on classroom strategies to support communication skills. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress. Maintain accurate and timely service logs, progress reports, and student records. Ensure compliance with relevant educational guidelines. Manage caseload and scheduling effectively. Qualifications: Strong assessment and therapeutic skills. Knowledge of child development and communication disorders. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to manage a diverse caseload. Cultural competence and ability to work with diverse populations. Work Environment: School-based setting serving a diverse student population. May travel between multiple locations within the district.
