Description:
MCP Rehabilitation Therapy Services include three departments: Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy.
All three departments serve an acute care hospital and an inpatient rehabilitation facility.
The acute care hospital has a capacity of 600 beds and covers various specialties including trauma, neuroscience, ICUs, ECMO, burn, oncology, orthopedic, and spine floors.
The inpatient rehabilitation facility has 40 beds.
The therapy staff consists of 27 full-time physical therapists, 19 full-time occupational therapists, and 9 full-time speech therapists.
The department operates on a day shift only.
There are directors and managers overseeing physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy staff.
Patient ratios vary and specific equipment includes walking equipment, bikes, bars, and treadmills for therapy.
The department uses Meditech as the electronic medical record system.
There is no on-call requirement, and staff do not have floating requirements.
Staff must work two weekend shifts per month as part of the rotation.
Candidates should possess skills in acute care hospital settings and inpatient rehabilitation.
Speech therapists must have at least 2 years of full-time experience in acute care hospitals or long-term acute care settings.
Candidates must be highly skilled at completing modified barium swallow studies.
It is preferred that candidates do not have work history limited to skilled nursing facilities, outpatient settings, or pediatrics/school settings.
Successful candidates should exhibit qualities of willingness, accountability, flexibility, and openness.
A good sense of humor is important.
