License: Licensed by the Oklahoma State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology
Certifications: Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire
Must-Have:
- Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Pathology
- Knowledge of the normal development of speech, language, and hearing
- Ability to perform diagnostic tests for communication disorders and formulate a treatment plan
- Must be able to interact in a patient, encouraging manner with clients to understand their communication needs and assist them in achieving specific goals
- Good interpersonal skills with customers, co-workers, and clients
- Must be able to display patience when clients’ frustration levels are high
Description:
Under general supervision, the Speech Language Pathologist will evaluate, diagnose, and recommend a treatment plan for communication disorders of speech and language.
Upon physician referral, performs evaluations of speech, hearing, and swallowing difficulties.
Makes a preliminary diagnosis and develops treatment plans.
Determines the need for individual or group therapy for each client.
Documents clients’ progress.
Assists students in clinical rotations in meeting objectives.
Performs other duties as assigned.
